About the Author and Tafsir:
His full name was Abu l-Fida Isma IL ibn Umar ibn Kaṯiri, also known by the epithet Imad ad-Din. His lineage can be traced back to the Quraysh tribe. Born around AH 701 (AD 1300/1) in Migdal near Damascus, Syria, Ibn Kathir was a student of Ibn Taymiyya and Al-Dhahabi. His scholarly career included various prestigious appointments and culminated with a professorial position at the Great Mosque of Damascus before his passing in February 1373 (AH 774).
